There have recently been a number of discussions on BBC Radio 5 Live's morning show about the difficulties people are experiencing in providing for their retirement. The presenter said in one discussion it is a concern that people were not saving for an income when they come to retire. He then interviewed a member of the public who explained he was self-employed and was unable to make any provision for his retirement. After the payment of his mortgage and general living expenses he had nothing left to pay into a scheme. He could also not see a time when the situation might change. ...
