Are you getting excited? Four years we've been waiting and it's nearly here? The World Cup of course, what did you think I meant?

Strangely, given we have been waiting all this time, I have a feeling of a bit of apathy at the moment. Is it because there are too many naff World Cup songs kicking around (except yours, Mr Merricks!)? Or is it because we're already reading the all-too-predictable stories about councils making people take their England flags down? Personally, I think it's the spate of injuries to star players, not just for England but for many of the other nations, which means this doesn't feel like the festival of football we'd all been looking forward to. Germany, it seems, have only got half...
