At last year's Cover Forum, the majority of delegates argued that something needed to be done to improve the reputation of the protection industry. This is nothing new however, as in previous years industry experts have pointed out that highlighting the need for protection is key to moving the protection market forward.
That said, until now, there has been plenty of talk but not near enough action in order to see any tangible changes. As Peter Hinchliffe, lead ombudsman for general insurance at the Financial Ombudsman, recently put it: “We all know what the problem is so it would be nice to crack on with looking at the solutions”.
