So, having had two perfectly fine goals disallowed last weekend, Sir Alex Ferguson says he would like to see video technology introduced to help referees make the right decisions in football matches.

This is the same Mr Ferguson who happily dismissed the idea when a perfectly good goal was disallowed in their favour, and when the ball had crossed their own goal line by at least a metre or more, just two years ago. Football managers, footballers and football fans - especially fans - are a fickle bunch, of course. My own red North London roots allow me to be able to choose not to take any notice of all the things Arsene Wenger says about all the things he didn’t see!
