Like many people I have just got back from a couple of weeks holiday.

This year however was slightly different as part of the fortnight was paternity leave – not quite sun, sea and sangria! Having a first child at “forty something” (I’ll leave you to fill in your own last number) has meant a multitude of comments about how my life will change – both for the worse and the better! But so far so good! One of the things that has crossed my mind as a result of being a new parent is my own finances both immediate and future, even stretching to retirement and how much pension I will need to retire at a given age.
