Research often shows a divide between men and women's level of savings and financial awareness, but it may be because women are more likely to admit when they don't understand something.
Aegon Scottish Equitable’s survey into people’s awareness of financial protection is particularly striking because for every question asked women appear to have less knowledge than men. For example, 96% of men are unaware the changes to pensions legislation ‘could save you money on life insurance premiums’ compared with 99.3% of women, and 30% of men have never reviewed their protection needs compared with 33% of women.
