With markets lurching around like a ‘tired' uncle at a family wedding, the structured product market is suddenly teeming with new products and providers.

Indeed, to judge by the sheer number of structures out there, you could be forgiven for assuming that most investors – those still putting money into the stock market anyway – are choosing a protected vehicle over every other type of investment. Even the traditional life and pensions monoliths are getting in on the act, and that can only mean one thing: business is booming.
