The Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) annual public meeting for 2026 was dominated by criticism over the regulator's handling of whistleblowers.
All of the FCA's leadership were in attendance, including chair Ashley Alder and CEO Nikhil Rathi, alongside around 900 industry participants and members of the public at its meeting yesterday (6 October). The recent death of whistleblower Simon Andriesz, reportedly by suicide, has exacerbated grievances felt by some of the attendees, and was the first thing raised following introductions.
