Nuveen completes Schroders deal to create $2.6trn mega-manager

London to serve as non-US headquarters

Nuveen has completed its acquisition of Schroders, creating a combined public-to-private asset and wealth manager with $2.6trn in AUM.

The combined firm will work to establish a unified investment platform following the £9.9bn takeover, led by Saira Malik, who will serve as chief investment officer. Johanna Kyrklund will become group CIO of public markets and solutions, with responsibility for equities, fixed income, multi-asset and solutions, reporting to Malik. Both firms will maintain their existing investment teams across asset and wealth management for at least 12 to 18 months post-completion, as integration planning gets underway.
