Nuveen gets regulatory green light for Schroders acquisition

Takeover expected on 1 October

Nuveen confirmed it has received regulatory approval to acquire Schroders, with the takeover expected on 1 October.

The fund groups said they were "pleased to confirm that all conditions relating to the receipt of antitrust and regulatory approvals" set out in the scheme of arrangement they agreed to in February, valuing Schroders at £9.9bn, had been met. The transaction is still subject to court approval at a sanction hearing, set to take place on 29 September. Upon court approval, the acquisition will finalise on 1 October, with all dealing in shares of Schroders suspended the same day and the admission to trading of shares in Schroders on the main market cancelled by the following morning.
