Advisers back tax wrapper decision framework in 'complex' environment

Almost 90% of financial advisers and 86% of paraplanners think that tax wrapper decisions have become “more complex” in the past three years, according to research from AJ Bell.

Its Great Wrapper Reset paper, produced in conjunction with Ad Lucem, stated that advisers were operating in an increasingly complex tax environment as successive governments had reduced tax-free allowances and increased rates. It also highlighted that unused pension funds were about to come into the scope of inheritance tax for the first time in April 2027.  The provider said that while tax wrapper choice had never been a "one-size-fits-all", the decision process "now needs a reset – particularly when it comes to intergenerational wealth transfer".  The paper found that 79% of adv...
