Royal London and Aviva take top spots

Royal London has taken the top spot as the most recommended personal pension and Aviva has come out on top for self-invested personal pensions (SIPPs), according to Defaqto analysis.

In its latest round of data analysis, Defaqto identified the most recommended personal pensions and SIPPs by advisers for the first half of 2026, based on recommendations flowing through Defaqto Engage. Royal London, Aviva and Quilter retained the top three spots for the most recommended personal pensions, with a similar level of market share to 2025.  Along with Prudential Retirement Account, Defaqto identified that these four products accounted for a significant proportion of adviser recommendations.
