The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) is under scrutiny once again after it released its economic and fiscal outlook ahead of chancellor Rachel Reeves’ Autumn Budget in error, with a cybersecurity expert reportedly expected to provide insight in an investigation.
In a statement, the OBR apologised for the "technical error" and has initiated an investigation into the matter. MPs have called for some of its most senior figures to resign over the matter. It commented: "We will be reporting to our Oversight Board, the Treasury, and the Commons Treasury Committee on how this happened, and we will make sure this does not happen again."
