After PensionBee calls for a legally enforceable transfer guarantee

The industry is divided over calls for a legally enforceable ten-day pension switch guarantee, with PensionBee chief business officer Lisa Picardo explaining that “barriers are institutional, not technical”.

PensionBee recently launched a national petition urging the government to legislate for a ten-day maximum transfer window, arguing that the technology, processes and regulatory framework already exist to achieve it in all but the most complex cases. Speaking to Professional Adviser, Picardo said the provider averaged 9.39 days for transfers out in 2024, proving "it can be done" and pointing to firms already meeting the target.
