Clarion Wealth Planning owner seals MBO deal after almost 40 years

Alderley Edge-based IFA bought by management team

Clarion Wealth Planning owner Ron Walker has sold 60% of his shareholding to his management team 39 years after establishing the business.

The management buyout (MBO) at the Alderley Edge-based financial planning business sees John Winstanley take over running the firm along with four other directors. Walker, a founding member of the Institute of Financial Planning and now part of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, will remain with the firm for at least five more years. Chairman Keith Thompson will also remain in place.
