Financial planning 'significantly' affects retirement confidence

Those without a detailed retirement plan have the lowest confidence

Financial planning has a ‘considerable’ impact on retirement confidence, Nucleus has found.

Its first UK Retirement Confidence Index which included research of 2,200 UK adults aged 50 and over by YouGov, showed nearly half (49%) of people aged over 50 do not a detailed retirement plan. The survey also found that planning significantly affects confidence. Just over half of respondents (51%) have a detailed plan for retirement. Only 20% have their plan in writing, but this does not seem to affect confidence (8.1 vs eight out of ten).
