Panellists debate how AI will play out in financial planning

Artificial intelligence (AI) will open the gates for a radically different way of working for financial advisers though what that will look like in practice remains relatively unknown, industry professionals say.

Speaking on a panel at NextGen Planners' Supernova 2023 conference today (16 June) Asset Map director of business development Gary Winslow said it was likely AI would be "a co-pilot for a financial planner". "It's going to make our lives 50% easier, but what does that mean for planners in five years' time," he questioned. "Does it mean everyone will have 50% more capacity or does it mean 50% will not be here?" He added AI is building "at an incredible pace" with Wealth Wizards product manager and Chartered financial planner Channelle Pattinson agreeing "it is going to do amazing thing...
