'Be the best you can' — 60-year old adviser gains Chartered status

Philip J Milton & Company managing director financial planner Philip Milton has been awarded Chartered Fellow status with both the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and the London Institute of Banking and Finance, aged 60.

Milton - who has run his eponymous financial planning firm in Barnstaple for 37 years - said part of his motivation for attaining the qualifications was to build public trust in the financial advice sector and to raise awareness of finance as a career option. "Such qualifications are never given lightly and they require a great deal of hard work," he said, adding: "You need to be the best you possibly can to serve your clients to the highest of your ability and integrity."
