A number of backbench Conservative MPs have warned prime minister Boris Johnson not to support their support for granted over plans to scale back the social care cap.

Last Thursday (18 November) the Department of Health and Social Care said its plans, which are set to go to a vote in parliament on Monday (22 November), would mean that the financial costs of living in care homes will not count towards the cap on social care costs under its proposals.
