Aviva has revealed what it is calling the 'most significant set of improvements' to its online platform for protection intermediaries since it launched four years ago.
Following feedback from advisers, the Aviva Life Protection System (ALPS) quote and apply process has been updated for intermediaries generating, editing and comparing quotes for multiple products and options.
According to Aviva, it is also now easier to compare quotes for the same product with slight variations, and both the option to edit client details any point and the option to print the quote illustration for the client at any point have been added.
The enhancements are designed to reduce the amount of time required to produce a range of quotes using ALPS, which the insurer said already provides instant underwriting decisions for around eight to 10 customer applications, or a decision within 48 hours following a brief telephone call for one in 10 customers (with nine in 10 getting a decision within 48 hours).
Advisers can also track and manage new and existing business on the platform.
"I'm really pleased that we've been able to respond directly to what advisers have been telling us, in implementing this latest upgrade to our platform," said Mark Cracknell, head of protection distribution at Aviva. "The changes mean it's now quicker and easier for advisers to generate quotes and options for their clients, and to do business with us.
"Aviva's protection products already have in-built flexibility, so advisers can tailor them to individual client needs, and now our system reflects this flexibility, allowing advisers to offer their clients greater choice," he added.
"This is a really significant development that we hope will make life a little easier for advisers. And we have more to come as we continue to listen and make improvements that help support the way advisers do business."
