Morgan Stanley retains equity fund manager crown in FundCalibre index

Morgan Stanley has been named the best equity fund manager for the second year running by FundCalibre's Fund Management Equity index.

The annual index, which looks at asset managers with the most consistent track record of outperformance over five years, found Morgan Stanley's six equity funds outperformed their respective sectors by an average of 42.1% over the period. Although this represents a fall from the 46.5% of average outperformance the £14.8bn range scored in the previous year, it far exceeds the average outperformance achieved by its closest rivals.
