Pension savers caught out by ‘byzantine' tax-relief rules   High-earning pension savers are racking up big tax bills after accidentally putting too much money into their retirement pots because of "byzantine" rules, reports this Sunday Times article. According to the paper, as many as "several individuals" earning above £150,000 have unwittingly "smashed the limit" on their annual allowance - and the piece goes on to suggest there are concerns the £40,000 ceiling will be cut in tomorrow's Budget in a further effort to save the government money.
