'Narrow focus' on pensions

Support offered by employers to help staff plan for the future is too narrowly focused on single issues, research published by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Centre for Ageing Better has suggested.

According to the paper, while many employers offer some kind of support to plan for the future, it is often too narrowly focused on a single issue such as pensions. The research involved carrying out interviews with 25 companies across 13 industries. It found few of the employers looked at supporting staff with issues such as long-term career development, plans for retirement, manging caring responsibilities or improving health and wellbeing.
