FCA receives more than 1,500 MiFID II queries in six months

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has received more than 1,500 calls and queries relating to the MiFID II rules, a freedom of information (FOI) request submitted by Professional Adviser has revealed.

The second Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) rules came into force on 3 January. In the last six months, the FCA's contact centre has received 1,501 queries regarding the rules, 187 of which have come after the rules were implemented. Meanwhile, the FCA's MiFID Co-ordination Team and the Advice & Distribution Policy Team received 38 queries in the last six months, three of which were recorded after the rules came into effect.
