Northampton firm suspends DB transfer service

Part of multi-firm supervision exercise

Northampton-based David Williams IFA has become the latest firm to temporarily suspend its defined benefit (DB) pension transfer service.

David Williams IFA was contacted for comment but had not replied at the time of writing.  According to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) register, however, the firm will: "Immediately cease to provide advice in relation to the transfer, or conversion, of safeguarded benefits under a pension scheme to flexible benefits".   This is the latest in a series of such suspensions that began with Intelligent Pensions and has since included Selectapension, Chichester-based Financial Solutions Midhurst, and Flintshire-based Strategic Wealth UK.
