"Why do you keep calling it 'Game of Thrones'?" sighed the chairman of the improbably-sized investment company Prandeamus Asset Management when I visited him last week. "I've told you, it's 'Game of Gnomes'.

"And frankly, bearing in mind it's my enormous television and my network of surveillance cameras hidden in assorted offices around Canary Wharf, the City of London and Whitehall, I get to choose the name."
