'Robo v human adviser' essay scoops £2,500 scholarship

Ben Manser of Jersey-based Coutts Crown Dependencies has been awarded the 2017 Hoare Nairne Scholarship for his essay analysing the pros and cons of using robo-advisers versus humans one from the customer's perspective.

The £2,500 scholarship - awarded by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) Educational Trust, supported by Charles Hoare Nairne - will go towards Manser's study costs and is aimed at helping him obtain the chartered wealth manager qualification. The qualification comprises of three units: financial markets, portfolio construction theory and applied wealth management. It is normally taken over 18 months, with sittings in June and December.
