Theresa May heads to Buckingham Palace to seek minority government

Theresa May is set to visit Buckingham Palace at 12:30pm to seek permission from the Queen to form a UK government, despite losing her Commons majority in the General Election 2017.

The Prime Minister is attempting to hold on to power by seeking permission to form a minority government, according to the BBC, while experts suggest an alliance with the Democratic Unionist Party will support her minority administration. "Our understanding is that the DUP is at this moment talking to Theresa May about forming a government," said John Rowland, executive director and political advisory specialist at consultancy firm Cicero Group.
