Zurich's Connell takes director role at CII and PFS

Former head of regulatory developments at provider Zurich, Matthew Connell, has joined the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) as director of policy and engagement.

In the newly created role, he will manage the policy, public affairs and public relations strategy of both the CII and adviser professional body, the Personal Finance Society (PFS). At Zurich, Connell (pictured) spoke on a variety of regulatory issues affecting advisers, including the impact of appropriateness tests on advisers and why long-term care funding initiatives benefited mainly the high-net worth.
