DB transfer values remain consistent in January

Eyes now on triggering of Article 50

Defined benefit (DB) transfer values were largely unchanged over the month of January, according to the Xafinity Transfer Value Index.

Ove January 2017, said Xafinity, the index varied between a minimum of £230,000 and a maximum of £235,000 - a variation of around 2%. It ended the month at £232,600 - largely unmoved from the index value of £234,000 on 31 December 2016.   The index tracks the transfer value that would be provided by an example DB scheme to a member aged 64, who is currently entitled to a pension of £10,000 each year starting at age 65.
