FCA warns of fake emails using its addresses

The regulator has warned people about fake emails that appear to have been sent by several of its addresses.

In a post on its website on 5 January the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said it had been made aware of an email sent to people from the address [email protected] that was fake and should not be opened.  It said: "We are aware that an email has been sent which appears to be from [email protected]. This email was not sent by the FCA and recipients should delete the email without opening."  An email entitled "FCA Regulation 2017" which was sent in an earlier incident and appeared to be from [email protected] was also not sent by the FCA.
