Savers risk 'pick of a bad bunch'

Savings products available in the UK have fallen to a new low this year, according to initial data released by Moneyfacts ahead of its latest Savings Trends Treasury Report.

The personal finance data provider identified a total drop of 274 savings products available on the UK market over the course of this year - from 1,719 in January to 1,445 this month. That number is also down 127 since August and sits well below the 2,093 peak of April 2012.  The report is a monthly overview of current and historical data for the savings and investment market, incorporating written commentary alongside graphs and tables highlighting key trends.
