Daniel Godfrey has stepped down from his position as chief executive of the Investment Association.

Professional Adviser's sister title Investment Week understands that Godfrey (pictured) left the body by mutual agreement. The board held a meeting on 6 October where they agreed to discuss Godfrey's future at the organisation. However, following a meeting with the chairman, Godfrey decided to leave a few hours after the meeting concluded. An interim chief executive will be appointed and the process is to begin as soon as possible - it is believed to be most likely someone from already within the organisation.
