'Political oxygen pretty limited' for further pension change - Cicero

Ros Altmann could struggle to make her mark as pensions minister as ‘political oxygen' for further pension policy reforms is extremely limited, a consultant has said.

Cicero Consulting director Iain Anderson said while Altmann would be keen to make an impact on pensions policy other, more pressing parliamentary business would take priority. Speaking at the lang cat live event in London, Anderson said three big issues - the EU referendum, constitutional reform and austerity - would trump further pensions policy changes. Some 26 parliamentary bills were announced in the Queen's Speech, said Anderson, leaving little time for further pension or regulatory reforms.
