Phoenix widens partnership with Just Retirement in pensions freedom push

Life fund consolidator Phoenix Life has widened its partnership with Just Retirement to allow clients access to the government's new pension freedoms and simplified advice.

The firm has an established introducer arrangement with Just Retirement to provide clients access to annuities but said in its Q1 interim statement it has agreed a "wider partnership agreement" with the provider in light of pensions freedom. The government reformed the retirement landscape over the last year to allow people access to their pension cash and income drawdown products. Pension providers were given the option to either enable access to the full set of freedoms themselves or allow their clients to transfer to another provider.
