UKIP plans state pension 'window'; would criminalise pension cold-calling

The UK Independence Party (UKIP) has announced plans for a retirement ‘window' allowing pensioners to take a slightly lower weekly state pension from the age of 65.

It said the "flexible state pension window" - similar to set-ups in Italy, Norway and Sweden - would give pensioners more choice over when they choose to retire. From 2020, both men and women's state pension age will be 66, increasing to 67 between 2026 and 2028, and then linked to life expectancy after that. Under the Pensions Act 2014, the government of the time must review the state pension age every five years.
