Adviser sentenced after £35k theft from elderly clients

A financial adviser has been handed a two year suspended jail sentence after admitting he stole £35,000 from an elderly couple.

The Hull Mail reports Glen Manson, 50, conned his clients, the Andersons, out of the money by promising them a return of 6%. However, he pocketed the cash himself. The couple had been his clients for 16 years, Hull Crown Court heard, while he worked for Bridlington firm Lloyd Dowson. He told the elderly couple, who were 86 and 92, both died within months of the theft, the report added. Manson had pleaded guilty to one count of theft at a previous court hearing.
