Rise in self-employment threatens to undermine AE - think tank

The growing number of workers who are self-employed could hamper attempts to get more people saving into a pension scheme, according to a think tank.

The number of self-employment has grown by 650,000 since 2008 to 4.5m, with one in seven UK workers now self-employed, according to a report by the Resolution Foundation. But the report - Just the job - or a working compromise? The changing nature of self-employment in the UK - found just 31% of the self-employed contribute to a pension, compared to 52% of employees.
