Hargreaves takes top position on Platforum's D2C leaderboard

Hargreaves Lansdown has beat back its rivals to take the top position on the Platforum's direct platform leaderboard for 2014.

Hargreaves was particularly commended for its customer service, though failed to score well on costs associated with larger portfolios. Fidelity Personal Investing took second place, based on its strength in providing investor guidance, followed by Bestinvest in joint third position along with Barclays Stockbrokers and Charles Stanley Direct. Bestinvest narrowly missed out on second place as the leaderboard was finalised before it unveiled its clean pricing model, beginning at 30bps for SIPP accounts below £250,000, at the end of January.
