Man Utd scores off the pitch as revenues jump to record high

Reigning Premier League champions Manchester United reported record revenues for the 12 months to June yesterday.

The Red Devils said revenues rose 13.4% to £363m in the last year, buoyed by a huge jump in commercial revenues which are up nearly a third. The club, controlled by the Glazer family, said the big rise in commercial revenues was driven by sponsorship deals, while improvements in merchandising and product licensing revenues also provided a boost. It made a net profit of £146m, while adjusted profit for the period was £17.2m.
