Moneygate appoints ex-Lighthouse chief Hickey as chairman

Former Lighthouse executive chairman David Hickey has been appointed Moneygate Group's new chairman.

Hickey (pictured) will join the north-east based group from 1 September. He spent the last three months working as a consultant for the company. Hickey resigned from his post at Lighthouse last August following a shareholder revolt concerning his plans to delist the company from the Alternative Investment Market (AIM). Moneygate Group chief executive Lee Hartley said: "We see David's appointment as a major coup as we push the business into a more mature phase.
