Sir Mervyn King to appear on Desert Island Discs

Outgoing Bank of England governor Sir Mervyn King is to appear on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs on Sunday.

Confirmation of the interview, with Kirsty Young, caused a stir of speculation on Twitter about what his musical choices and luxury item might be, the Telegraph reports. Former Monetary Policy Committee member Andrew Sentance, a vocal opponent to quantitative easing, suggested that his former Bank of England colleague might choose Easy Money.
