FCA names consumer panel chairman

Sue Lewis has been appointed chairman of the independent Financial Services Consumer Panel and will take up the post on 1 July.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) was required to establish the panel by the Financial Services Act 2012. The panel's role is to advise the authority on the interests and concerns of consumers and provides a constructive challenge to the FCA's policymaking process. Most recently Lewis has been working as a non-executive director and independent policy consultant. She is also the consumer advocate member on the Chartered Insurance Institute's Professional Standards Board, and is a trustee of the Personal Finance Education Group and of Stepchange, a debt advice charity.
