Hornbuckle Mitchell to shut Cheshire office

Self-invested personal pension (SIPP) operator Hornbuckle Mitchell is to close its regional office in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.

The firm's MD Dave White said the move followed a review of its office locations across the country and confirmed the decision had put 35 jobs at risk. He said the firm would keep its head office and Edinburgh operation.  White said: "In the medium term we are looking to open somewhere in London. However, in the short term our review means staff at Holmes Chapel are affected." He said all the affected employees have been offered alternative jobs at the firm's Leicester-based head office or could take redundancy if they did not want to relocate.
