Symponia attacks lower care cap

Symponia has called today's social care announcement "a clever pre-Budget manoeuvre" designed to divert attention away from the ailing coalition.

Chancellor George Osborne (pictured) has revealed Wednesday's Budget will bring forward key reforms to social care - including capping costs at £72,000 rather than the planned £75,000. The cap will be introduced 12 months earlier than originally intended, in 2016.  "Tomorrow we're going to say that we're going to bring forward the Dilnot cap," Osborne told the BBC.
