The Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) has outperformed Asia, as an investment theme, for several years. We believe this trend will continue as it becomes better understood and differentiated as a discrete investment region within Asia. We suggest investors gain exposure through active investment vehicles, such as Baring ASEAN, as we have concerns about access via direct equities.
