Ex-Honister IFA charged with £730k tax evasion

An ex-Honister financial adviser charged with evading tax estimated at £730,000 is to appear at Worcester Crown Court next week.

The case against David Douglass, 45, from Silver Birch Drive, Hollywood, was initially heard by Redditch Magistrates Court last December following an investigation by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). Douglass, who worked for Honister Partners, formally Bates, is charged with cheating the public revenue contrary to common law and will stand trial at Worcester Crown Court on 11 February. HMRC alleges Douglass evaded tax worth about £730,000.
