Hector Sants 'in talks to join Deloitte'

Former Financial Services Authority (FSA) chief executive Hector Sants is in talks to join accountancy firm Deloitte as an equity partner, according to reports.

Sants has received an offer from the firm, according to Sky News, and is set to advise across a range of industries, including banking and financial services. Sants is currently on paid gardening leave after resigning his £500,000 post in June. He initially intended to leave in 2010, but stayed on to implement the "twin peaks" model that replaces the FSA next year. A number of former senior FSA figures currently work for one of the "big four" accountancy firms. Former supervisory head Jon Pain is at KPMG, while his successor Margaret Cole now works for PricewaterhouseCoopers.
