Adviser firm Informed Choice is to launch an execution-only platform in a bid to attract mass-market clients.
The service, named IC Direct, will target consumers with between £20,000 and £40,000 of investable assets. The company currently caters for clients with an average of £300,000 of assets. IC Direct will disclose two simple charges to clients: a platform charge and fund management charge. "Many of the existing platforms seem loathe to disclose exactly what they are being paid for providing the service," said managing director Martin Bamford.
