Skandia head of investment research departs

Adam Smears, head of investment research at Skandia, has left the group to pursue other opportunities.

Smears (pictured), who formerly ran the Skandia Strategic Bond fund as well as heading up the investment research division, had worked at Skandia since 2003. Separately, Old Mutual Global Investors has announced Anthony Gillham has been appointed sole manager of the £165m Skandia Strategic Bond fund. The fund has returned 32.8% over the five years to 12 October compared with an average return of 28.7% for the IMA £ Strategic Bond sector, according to Morningstar.
